Navy (Japan) Shirt

So I made this a while ago and I have been struggling to make it look awesome! I don't know if it's because of the colors, or if it's too light, or something completely different... or maybe all of those things. o - o
Anyways here is what it looks like right now.  I'm basically in the process of making this for my sister who is  serving in the navy.  She is currently stationed in Japan (so jealous!) and I am super proud of her! She seems to be enjoying it as well.  Will (maybe...) post more of my progress of her shirt here.

More Chibehs! o3o

I was pretty bored last night so I decided to do some free chibis for some members of tinierme.  (It's still so sad the owners are shutting down the site soon... ) The first one I did in color which took about 2 hours!  I was gonna do more in color as well but when I looked back on the forum there was like 10 more people who wanted one.  I couldn't get to everybody so I did some quick 5-10  min sketches for those I could get to.

Chibi!

Yay! I finally got my first paid commission ^^  This is in chibi style! I've never done chibi's... er well legit chibis so this ended up being very fun.  Since I don't have many commissions right now, I might go on to "tinierme" and do some free ones soon. :)

Pokemon Team

I thought it would be fun to post this up here since I may never finish it o.o
For the longest time... and I mean for a very long time I wanted to draw myself and my pokemon team. It never came out how I wanted it though :( I finally whipped this up a couple months ago but was still not satisfied... I'll draw another one someday (and colored) when I think of a better outfit and a more dynamic shot but in the mean time just enjoy this... xP
Pokemon Team!

  •  Dragonite ♂ - Wafflez
  • Flygon ♀ - Monsoon
  • Whimsicott ♀ - Poncho
  • Qualava ♂ - Kimchi
  • Audino ♀
  • Jolteon ♂ - Blitz
Yup as you can tell I'm a nerd... But if your way into pokemon then you would understand! xD Anyways may change Audino to dif pokemon.  I like Audino but I think I like Ambipom (Pocco ♂) better...

Mall Sketches

On Saturday, I got my animation club group together to go to the mall and stare at people awkwardly as we drew them.  It was really fun and a lot of strangers were curious to what we were doing.  Especially when we were a group of about 7 squished together on seat with our sketchbooks out.
Drawing people was very difficult. o.o The second I started to draw someone, they moved.  Kids were the most difficult because the move constantly.  I mainly drew old people because they were the only ones who actually took a seat and stayed still enough for me to draw them.  I will definitely be doing this more often!

Tree Spirit Sculpture

I forgot to put this up here, but I did this for my sculpture class last quarter.  Took about 20 hours o.o The leaves were definitely the hardest, especially when I made every single one!

Shiny Pika

I haven't been able to work on a lot of my programs since my laptop was having issues... but I finally have it back and it's nice and fixed!  While my laptop was having issues, I was working on this instead!  I think I'm going to put it in the art donation auction thingy for Anime Banzai (SLC convention) next year! Hopefully they'll be able to get lots of money out of it.

Process of making Shiny Pika:

         -  Glass Bottle                - Adding aluminum foil          - Adding more aluminum foil

     - Cardboard tubes for ear         - More foil for limbs         - Paper mache with newspaper

- Painting on color (it looks derpy...)

- Finished Product! With decorative stones!

Why Technology? Why?!

My Laptop and PC haven't been very nice to me lately... so I drew a picture out of fustration.
Why do you have to be so confusing technology? Why can't you be simple!? :(

Drawn to Life

I had many teachers recommend this book to me many times, but never cared to pick it up because I hate reading.  What can I say, I'm more of a visual person.
I was in the library the other day and I came across the book.
Right side of brain: "Does it have pictures? o3o"
Left side of brain: "Why does that matter you idiot?! *smack* Pick it up! You need to read more anyways!"
For some reason I felt I had to pick it up and read it... so I did.
and... It is an amazing book!!! What is this book you ask?  Well it's call Drawn to Life by Walt Stanchfield. Walt Stanchfield was one of the most amazing animators of his generation.  Some of his work can be found in the Disney movies, the Jungle Book and AristoCats.

The book is not only great for animators but also for all artists in general! I never found a more amazing textbook in my life! Now I know why so many people recommended it.  It has a ton of useful info, great tips, and it also inspires you to become a better artist.  I'm almost tempted to steal it from the library.
So if you are looking for a great book to read for artists/animators, then this is great addition to add to your personal library!
